The natural beauty of Saba abounds at the Peak House, situated at 1500 ft above sea level yet within walking distance to the charming and lively village of Windwardside.
One of the owners is a well know landscape designer with a passion for gardening as seen throughout the 5500 sq meters property that contains The Peak House and The Peak.
The Peak being a verdant monolith of stone and forest that rises about the house. Combined with beautiful vistas stretching along the archipelago all the way to Montserrat, The Peak House is a great Caribbean Hideaway on the hillside. Very private and very secluded. However, if you choose, you can even begin one of Saba’s famous trails right outside the property entrance.
One enters the property through a gate tucked into a stone wall built in the traditional Saban style. Gardens filled with hundreds of exotic tropical plants surround the house and pool. The landscape features orchids, bromeliads, bananas, passion fruit, almond trees, coconut palms and other beautiful plants. Stone details abound...walls, walkways, steps and even the generator house. All in the Saba style. The house itself was built in 1978 and constructed around the 17th kitchen hearth from the original cottage.
The interior rooms are spacious, great for entertaining. There is a great hall (or living room), large galley kitchen with huge pantry, well proportioned dining room, 2 bedrooms, a staff bedroom, 3 bathrooms including one off the pool and a small office/study off the great room. Wood and tile floors flow throughout the house.
Generous exterior living spaces include a pool deck and loggia surrounding the 45 ft pool, outdoor dining room and pool house plus an upper level terrace for island viewing the dramatic Saban coastline. A big bonus on Saba is the free standing, enclosed garage.
This very eclectic and charming home is sold fully furnished with antiques and Indonesian teak furniture. All the bones are in place for you to make The Peak House your own personal paradise.
